GOD'S WORD IS FOR US

When challenged on his decision to heal on the Sabbath Day, Jesus responded by saying: "The Sabbath was made for humans, not humans for the Sabbath."

We believe those words are still true today. The Sabbath Day is a gift, made for us.

And we believe that God's Word is also gift.

At St. Andrew, we seek to read scripture as a a gift, given to support us, in this world.

The Bible is more than a record of commands or a code of laws.

It's full of poetry and satire, puns and off-color jokes. It's a book that was written to make us laugh, and cry, and think hard about the world around us.
